Amogh Suman

I build AI products for financial services in India. I care most about the people at the far end of them: the borrower, the investor, the customer reading the fine print.

I studied computer science at IIT Delhi, and my first jobs took me a long way from code. I coordinated farmer outreach projects with government and agricultural institutions, ran an education business in Jammu that trained more than 800 students, and founded two edtech ventures, Edwitty and PrepMitra.

An MBA at IIM Calcutta pulled me towards finance. Along the way I passed Level III of the CFA Program and Part II of the FRM, worked on product at Gartner, and launched a real-money gaming app at FanPlay in under three months.

I then spent more than three years as a quantitative researcher, building models for options trading and managing long-term equity portfolios. Markets taught me to think in probabilities and to respect the downside. I am a SEBI-registered research analyst.

Since 2024 I have been an AI product manager in Grant Thornton Bharat's financial services advisory practice. I design new AI offerings and build many of them myself: a platform that reviews apps for dark patterns, a safety review of more than 600,000 conversations, the specification for an open EV charging network, and credit programmes for startups and microfinance.

Outside the day job I build ventures of my own: The Capital Gains, for retail investors who want to build wealth patiently; Sunarly, a gold ring with discreet intelligence inside; and Sleepifyme, for better sleep.
